Existential Hazards
There are other existential threats in every state.

a. Every state has prisons from which it must be concerned about sociopaths escaping.

b There may be military bases that could go renegade.

c. There could be motorcycle gangs or other social groupings that may try to exert abusive power.

d. There may be water dams, large industrial plants, and other large structures that can become a hazard when left unattended or unmaintained.

HOWEVER, for any survivor who is still healthy three weeks after the catastrophe -
their THREE MAIN EXISTENTIAL THREATS will probably be:

Each state has its peculiar combination of hazards based upon its climate and geological location. You may wish to consider some of the following threats in relation to your area and the areas surrounding you. Other areas may very well directly affect you in regards to refugees or as to where members of your family may be located.

Each state should track, map and monitor the hazards with which it is concerned. These concerns will vary from state to state but events in other states can affect your state.

Before, when there was a natural / national disaster in one area - resources poured in from others to help. After a nuclear war - there will be no help coming. Not only that - but what would have been local resources may very well have been destroyed or depleted. It will be much more dangerous now, to be in any sort of hazardous situation. For example, if one is in an automobile accident there may be no help coming and even if one were to get to a hospital the trauma care may be very minimal.
